Objective:
Our objective is to develop an outreach program to connect scientists, farmers and students who are interested in organic corn breeding.
Approach:
Host winter nurseries that will serve as the venue for a boot camp program in organic corn breeding. Mainland farmers, student interns and other collaborators will work together to manage the nursery and exchange information about organic corn breeding in an intense, hands-on experience, and plan on-farm trials in Puerto Rico.
