Research Project: FY 2020 Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) - Benchmark Watershed Assessment Studies (on croplands)

Location: National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory

Project Number: 5020-12130-004-010-I
Project Type: Interagency Reimbursable Agreement

Start Date: Aug 1, 2020
End Date: Sep 30, 2023

Objective:
Quantify the effect of conservation practices on water quality at field and watershed scales in the St. Joseph River watershed.

Approach:
1. Monitor discharge and water quality at field sites and agricultural ditches to evaluate and test conservation practice effectiveness; and 2. Use new and innovative modeling and assessment tools to quantify sediment, nutrient, and pesticide transport on the landscape under current and future climates.
