Objective:
The objectives of this research are: 1) use traditional and molecular breeding methods to improve FHB resistance in North Dakota malting barley cultivars, 2) field screen adapted barley lines exhibiting FHB resistance and 3) screen the coordinated barley nursery for FHB resistance.

Approach:
The researcher will conduct traditional and molecular breeding methods to improve FHB resistance in malting barley for the state of North Dakota.
