Objective:
This agreement establishes a general framework for cooperation and coordination for appropriated funding research between the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in the State of New York, referred to herein as ARS-NY and Cornell University in the State of New York, referred to herein as CORNELL. ARS research facilities in New York included in Appendix A in this agreement are the Robert W. Holley Center for Agriculture and Health in Ithaca (RWHCAH), and the Grape Genetics Research Unit (GGRU) and Plant Genetic Resources Unit (PGRU) in Geneva, NY. Collectively, these facilities will be referred to as ARS-NY Facilities. For purposes of clarity, the ARS-NY Facilities shall not include the National Grape Improvement Center planned for construction at Cornell’s Agritech campus. The facilities at CORNELL include all endowed and statutory colleges under the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Cornell Institute of Biotechnology. Collectively, these facilities are referred to herein as CORNELL Facilities.

Approach:
This agreement serves as the broad umbrella for the development of individual collaborative research agreements and describes the specific roles and responsibilities that each institution agrees to regarding the performance, conduct, management, and oversight of those collaborative research agreements.
