Objective:
The objective is to develop a systematic approach for developing diagnostic and detection assays for different formae speciales of Fusarium oxysporum. Collaborator will provide DNA from a range of taxa for genomic sequencing and assist in identifying target sequences to base diagnostic assays on.
Approach:
A wide range of F. oxysporum taxa will be sequenced by Illumina and a computer pipeline that has been developed to screen for unique sequences that can be used as targets for developing diagnostic assays.
