Objective:
To identify sources of resistance to the highly virulent pathogen Fusarium wilt of cotton, and study the pathogen’s mechanisms for infection.

Approach:
A team of U.S. and Uzbekistan researchers will identify FOV-resistant cotton germplasm; develop recommendations for cotton-breeding programs in the U.S. and Uzbekistna; and will study the pathogen’s origins and its mode of infection.
