Objective:
Investigate interactions between psyllids and bacterial plant pathogens and endosymbionts and improve monitoring and detection of pathogens and endosymbionts associated with psyllids.
Approach:
Diagnostic PCR, fluorescence in situ hybridization, and microscopy, in conjunction with greenhouse assays will be used to investigate interactions between psyllids and bacterial endosymbionts.
