Objective:
To measure the metabolizable energy value of pulses when fed to humans.
Approach:
Controlled diet studies will be conducted in which volunteers will be fed diets with and without pulses and diet samples and excreta will be collected and analyzed by bomb calorimtery to determine the metabolizable energy value of the pulses.
