Objective:
The objective of this research is to determine how lactocrine disruption from birth alters developmental programming of the reproductive tract (uterus) by quantifying epigenome mechanisms and signatures in neonatal and adult tissue of pigs.
Approach:
ARS will provide approximately 80 neonatal and adult tissue samples to Auburn University. These samples will be collected from animals with high and low immunocrit values. The samples will include fixed and frozen uterine tissue, fixed and frozen conceptus tissue, and frozen uterine flushings. Auburn University will quantify epigenomic signatures and structural patterns of development.
