Objective:
The Objective of this project is to obtain germplasm of wild species of crop wild relatives in Florida and document populations of the species from which germplasm is collected.

Approach:
Germplasm of Amaranthus, Chenopodium, Echinochoa, Gomphrena, Portulaca, Setaria and Tripsacum species will be collected from wild populations in Florida. Germplasm will be collected in the form of seeds and will be documented with locality, latitude and longitude, elevation, plant description and growing environment. Herbarium voucher specimens will be made as appropriate. A detailed trip report, including information on all samples obtained, will be provided to ARS.
