Research Project: Identifying Key Factors Involved in the Enhancement or Loss of Seed Quality

Location: Plant Germplasm Preservation Research

Project Number: 3012-21000-016-05-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 30, 2016
End Date: Sep 29, 2018

Objective:
The objective of this cooperation is to investigate the feasibility of state-of-art techniques to detect changes in seed quality. The work supports objectives W3168 Multi-State Project.

Approach:
In this collaboration, interactions of seed maturity, desiccation tolerance and aging at high and low humidity will be explored in the context of seed quality. We will examine the likelihood of new genomic and gene expression tools in identifying aspects seed quality phenotypes.
