Research Project: Carbon Flux from Great Plains Agroecosystems Associated with the ARS LTAR Network

Location: Agroecosystem Management Research

Project Number: 3042-11210-003-002-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2015
End Date: Aug 31, 2020

Objective:
Establish two eddy covariance systems in grazing systems used in the Great Plains. Data from these systems will be compared to that from cropping systems in the region and will contribute to the LTAR database.

Approach:
Eddy covariance towers will be installed in a long-term seasonlong pasture and an eight pasture rotation grazing system. Flux measurements in these grazing systems will be compared to irrigated and rainfed corn based cropping systems. All flux data will be uploaded to the LTAR database.
