Objective:
To utilize the Purdue Animal Care and Use Committee (PACUC) to ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and the FASS Ag Guidelines when conducting research on food-producing animals.

Approach:
ARS animal scientists conduct research on food-producing animals using Cooperator's facilities, research farms, and personnel. In order to avoid ambiguity, duplication of research proposal reviews and record keeping, ARS and Cooperator wish to operate under a single set of rules/guidelines that all employees (ARS and Cooperator) working on Cooperator's research farms or in either Cooperator's or ARS' facilities.
