Objective:
The overall project goal is to speed up the development of Fusarium head blight (FHB) resistant germplasm and cultivars in the hard winter wheat (HWW) region through Doubled Haploid (DH) approach.

Approach:
Doubled Haploid lines will be developed using the ‘wheat x maize’ method from F1 or BC1F1 seeds with different FHB genes from our collaborators in the HWW region. These lines will be seed increased, genotyped and phenotyped for FHB resistance, and shipped to the collaborators for further agronomic evaluation.
