Objective:
This project aims to centralize regional hard winter wheat data to improve selection for Fusarium head blight resistance. By integrating genomic prediction and quantitative trait locus haplotyping into a publicly accessible database, we will increase selection efficiency and accelerate the development of highly productive and resistant varieties for growers.
Approach:
We will coordinate genotyping and data collection across Great Plains breeding programs. By utilizing the public T3 database, we will curate extensive datasets to train predictive models. This centralized pipeline provides cooperating breeders with genomic estimated breeding values and haplotype predictions to inform optimal crossing and selection strategies.
