Objective:
1) Evaluate integrated effects of fungicides and host resistance on FHB and DON.
2) Compare efficacy of Prosaro Pro, Sphaerex, and Miravis Era with Prosaro and Miravis Ace.
3) Assess forecast-based versus calendar-based fungicide programs,
4) Quantify economic benefits of management strategies, and validate and improve FHB risk prediction models.
Approach:
In 2026, established protocols will be repeated to evaluate fungicide efficacy across environments using IM and UFT trials in wheat at two Indiana sites. From 2027–2029, forecast-based programs will be incorporated. Trials will measure FHB, DON, yield, and test weight, with meta-analysis and model validation guiding decision-making.
