Objective:
Evaluate integrated fungicide and host resistance effects on FHB/DON; compare new and standard fungicides; assess forecast- versus calendar-based programs; quantify economic benefits; and improve FHB risk prediction models while monitoring Fusarium sensitivity to DMI and SDHI fungicides.
Approach:
Conduct wheat and barley field trials (IM and UFT) with inoculated and non-inoculated plots, with cultivars representative of production, and test new and established fungicide programs. Work with colleagues across the US to centrally assess Fusarium isolates for DMI/SDHI sensitivity using standardized assays.
