Objective:
Overall Goal: Enhance available features for USDA ARS US National Fungus Collections
Objective 1: Make additional information on fungus-host-distributions available, expanding and refining the nomenclature and synonymy options
Objective 2: New customizable download features
Objective 3: Enhance web-based data entry system to accomodate Objectives 1 and 2, especially development of automated data entry for literature and nomenclature utilizing and leveraging data cooperations with similar institutions.
Objective 4: update software platforms (front and back-ends to remain up to date with secure codes.
Approach:
Work proposed for this interagency agreement will accomplished by a contractor familiar with the software platform in current use and the USDA National Agriculture Azure Cloud protocols. For Objective 1, Contractor will evaluate current state of public website and ARS PI will determine priority of enhancements. For Objective 2, ARS PI will determine format and additional information to be included in downloadable report. For Objective 3, ARS PI and contractor will work together to determine how to update current data entry system to ensure compatibility with Objectives 1 and 2. For Objective 4, contractor will determine most recent stable code and software versions as needed.
