Objective:
The objective is to examine the roles of the newly discovered genes that encode putative effectors and with micro-exons in Hessian fly population biotype differentiation.
Approach:
1. Sequence transcripts of individual micro-exon genes to determine if alternative splicing occurs in different Hessian fly individuals from different biotypes
2. Generate recombinant proteins of micro-exon genes for identifying their interacting targets in wheat.
