Objective:
The objective of this Non Assistance Cooperative Agreement is to facilitate the joint conduct of human nutrition studies by the Diet, Microbiome, and Immunity (DMI) Unit at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Western Human Nutrition Research Center (WHNRC), located on the campus of the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). During the next 3.5 years, the DMI Unit will focus on research that investigates the effect of diet on gut microbiome and immunity. Planned upcoming projects include clinical trials involving fermented food intake, fermented vegetables, and peanuts.
Approach:
UC Davis will support clinical studies conducted by the DMI Unit by employing and providing technical and medical personnel required for research on humans. These may include, but are not limited to, Clinical Research Coordinators and/or Specialists with expertise in managing all aspects of clinical trials.
