Objective:
1) Evaluate integration of fungicide and resistance on Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) and DON in Alabama; and 2) evaluate efficacy of newer fungicidal products vs. established standards. Data will contribute to national efforts for improved FHB and DON management of: 3) improving "best management practices," and 4) validating and advancing risk prediction models.
Approach:
Field studies will be done at two locations: central and south Alabama. Both studies will include at least two wheat cultivars and two newer fungicidal products for comparison to current standards. Diseases will be rated in these studies, heads (for determining scab index) and yield data will be collected.
