Objective:
Cooperative agreement with University of North Carolina - Greensboro (UNCG) to study the effects of commercial pollen substitutes and microalgae-based prebiotic additives on the honey bee gut microbiome and metabolome.

Approach:
A combination of bacterial community and functional analyses with metabolomic analyses to investigate fine scale aspects of artificial nutrition on the honey bee microbiome and metabolome will be used.
