Approach:
CIMMYT personnel in Pakistan will coordinate with and monitor rust samples from Districts across Pakistan; sample and collect about 1000 rust samples for race analysis; Make approximately 2000 new crosses between adapted germplasm and rust resistant germplasm; conduct, analyze and organize country-wide wheat yield trials; and provide at least 15 trainings in wheat agronomy, breeding, and seed multiplication.
