Objective:
1. Discover and validate genes controlling soybean protein and oil content 2. Develop new strategies to apply the genes into soybean seed quality improvement

Approach:
Recently, we identified several genes (candidates) controlling soybean seed protein content. We will characterize and validate the functions of the genes and their association with the other important soybean traits such as oil and yield by integrating molecular, genetic and genomic approaches with an aim to develop new strategies and tools for soybean seed quality improvement through molecular breeding and biotech.
