Implement and support international research collaborations, scientific trainings and conferences and/or meeting facilitation for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) in Manhattan, Kansas, USA through innovative approaches developed by CRDF Global to build collaborations among a community of scientists.

Approach:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) supports international scientific training, global research alliances and scientific collaborations between U.S. scientists and experts researching foreign animal diseases in endemic countries worldwide. NBAF’s efforts, including foreign and emerging animal disease research, training and diagnostics, help protect the nation’s agriculture, farmers and citizens against the threat and potential impact of especially dangerous animal and zoonotic diseases. The U.S. Civilian and Research Development Foundation (CRDF Global) will support the ARS and NBAF efforts by providing implementation and oversight support of the activities outlined in this agreement. CRDF Global has the infrastructure, expertise, and capacity to support and execute activities in line with ARS and NBAF objectives. ARS and NBAF collaborators will partner with CRDF Global to design, organize, and execute activities to achieve the objectives of the project.
