Objective:
The objective for this project is to develop an autonomous platform capable of applying ultraviolet (UV-C) light for pest management of field grown strawberries.

Approach:
A prototype robot will be designed, constructed, and programmed to treat strawberry plots established in Kearneysville, West Virginia. Disease and pest control achieved with synthetic pesticides, UV-C technology alone or in combination with pesticide applications on disease-tolerant and -susceptible strawberry varieties will be assessed. A commercial scalable robot platform for deployment of robotic UV-C light technology to treat large acreage will be developed.
