Objective:
The objectives of this research are: 1) use traditional breeding methods to provide barley germplasm with introgressed FHB resistance to breeders in the growing region, 2) use genomic approaches to improve and optimize breeding for FHB resistance in barley and 3) field screen barley accessions to identify new sources of resistance.
Approach:
The researcher will conduct traditional and molecular breeding methods to improve FHB resistance in malting barley germplasm for breeders in the growing region.
