Research Project: Petiole-Nitrate Phone Application

Location: Water Management and Conservation Research

Project Number: 2020-13660-008-015-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 1, 2020
End Date: Jun 30, 2021

Objective:
1. Revise Arizona’s petiole NO3 recommendations with 6 years data from N management studies. 2. Develop an easy-to-use phone application for Arizona cotton N management. The app will utilize planting date and petiole NO3 data.

Approach:
Six years of petiole NO3 will be compared to current, 30-year-old recommendations, and revised. Application will be developed, first as an Excel add-on, later as a Python-coded app for phones. A wholistic, N management Excel add-on will be written and converted to a phone app. The app will use growers cotton planting date, and irrigation system. App will allow growers or labs to register, log-in, and view historical data.
