Objective:
The objectives of this research are to: 1) identify novel sources of resistance to FHB in wheat and 2) develop genetic resources for introgressing those sources of resistance into elite hard winter wheat germplasm for use by breeders.
Approach:
The researcher will conduct traditional and molecular breeding methods to improve FHB resistance in winter wheat for the Great Plains region.
