Research Project: IPM Strategic Planning for Oregon Nursery Crops

Location: Horticultural Crops Disease and Pest Management Research Unit

Project Number: 2072-22000-044-005-G
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: Aug 1, 2019
End Date: Oct 31, 2022

Objective:
Formally document the current pest management challenges and critical needs within the industry, and to support a prioritized plan for research, extension, and regulatory support in meeting these needs.

Approach:
With the Northwest Nursery Crop Research Center (NNCRC) as an advisory body, develop a workgroup of Oregon nursery industry representatives. With this group, identify an appropriate scope, and complete an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Strategic Plan to be published through Oregon State University Extension and available to USDA and EPA through the National IPM Database. Work with Pacific Northwest research and extension faculty to support targeted research and education follow-up based on the critical needs identified through the IPM strategic planning process.
