To elucidate the mechanisms underlaying cancer protective effects of the cruciferous vegetable-derived compound Indole-3-carbinol (I3C).
Identify and validate specific T cell populations (ex. Cytotoxic T cell, T-reg etc.) affected by dietary I3C. The ultimate goal is to examine how I3C modulates these T cell subsets in a C rodentium infected mouse model. ARS hypothesized that I3C could protect against C rodentium-induced inflammation. Therefore, ARS will evaluate the effect of I3C on the relevant peripheral immune-regulating mechanisms in C rodentium-infected mice.
