Objective:
1. Assess seed yield of advanced cover crop germplasm as part of a national legume cover crop breeding.
2. Facilitate knowledge exchange about cover crops by engaging farmers, researchers, and agricultural professionals at field days and workshops and through regional Cover Crop Councils.
Approach:
Initiate a multi-site cover crop germplasm breeding program. USDA, Corvallis will evaluate seed yield of new cover crop germplasm in field experiments. The seed yield data will be used to identify germplasm for release.
