Objective:
The objective of this proposal is to assess the response of porcine brain to dietary intervention with atherogenic diets associated with Cardiovascular disease (CVD) relative to a Heart Healthy diet.

Approach:
1) Generate RNA-sequencing data from frontal, temporal and hippocampal regions of the brain of Ossabaw pigs randomized to a Western or Heart-healthy dietary treatment group. 2) Assess differential gene expression among dietary treatments by fitting a generalized linear model followed by the Benjamini-Hochberg FDR correction method. 3) Correlate transcriptme and metabolome changes in brain sections.
