Objective:
The spinach breeding and genetics program aims to incorporate valuable traits from both cultivated and exotic sources into new germplasm and breeding populations including resistances to downy mildew disease, leafminer insect, and herbicides.

Approach:
Germplasm screening, genetic study, breeding, and recurrent selection will be conducted to identify, investigate, and enhance beneficial and horticultural traits, adaptation, and yield of spinach.
