The objective of this cooperative research project is to operate a fall and winter rice nursery for the purpose of advancing plant generations and seed increase in genetic breeding populations and in unadapted rice germplasm accessions in the NSGC collection.

The Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center (DBNRRC) of the USDA, ARS, SEA in Stuttgart, Arkansas, will provide rice seed stocks for planting. The cooperator will manage the research plots throughout the year and during the rice growing season will be responsible for planting, cultural management, pest management, documenting dates of planting and emergence, as well as weather data, processing of seed, and shipping seed and field supplies to DBNRRC after harvest. Both parties will participate in harvest of the rice nursery materials.
