Research Project: Aquatic Ecology Assessment of Streams in the St. Joseph River Watershed

Location: National Soil Erosion Research

Project Number: 5020-12130-003-23-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Oct 1, 2018
End Date: Aug 31, 2019

Objective:
Conduct field and laboratory studies to document ecological responses to improved water quality predicted to occur as a result of conservation practices.

Approach:
Conduct ecological assessments at 9 watershed monitoring sites in the St. Joseph River watershed. Conduct biomarker studies at four sites in the St. Joseph River watershed. Assess macroinvertebrate communities from the 9 watershed monitoring sites in the St. Joseph River watershed. Evaluate the impact of conservation practice implementation on aquatic ecological integrity.
