Objective:
Conduct and support studies of gene expression in varieties and accessions of switchgrass grown in common gardens as part of continental scale multi-site experiments. Collaborate with other project investigators to produce research products. Mentor University of Texas post-doctoral and technical staff housed within our location to carry out the research. Facilitate sharing of resources with collatorabor and support staff. Research will yield new insights on geneic control of switchgrass traits conferring yield and resource use efficiency.
Approach:
Grow switchgrass varieties, ecotypes, and accessions in common gardens. Measure plant traits and gene expression.
