Research Project: Operation of the ARS Micronet to Provide a Long-Term, High Spatial Resolution Climate Record for Study of Hydrologic and Agricultural Systems

Location: Agroclimate and Hydraulics Research Unit

Project Number: 3070-11130-007-001-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 1, 2018
End Date: Jul 31, 2023

Objective:
Support and analyze a long-term, high spatial resolution climate record that allows evaluation of hydrologic and agricultural systems at multiple spatial and temporal scales.

Approach:
Operate and maintain 35 instrumented weather stations on the Little Washita River Experimental Watershed and the Fort Cobb Reservoir Experimental Watershed. Collect data, provide quality control/quality assurance of the data, maintain a data archive, and distribute data to users. Collectively these stations comprise the ARS Micronet, which is operated as a part of the Oklahoma Mesonet.
