Objective:
To expand on existing diverse Andropogoneae collection at Danforth Center and create duplicate collection in Ithaca, NY at Cornell University greenhouses.

Approach:
Work will target 7 species of North American grasses, to be collected throughout their ranges. Specifically, project personnel will collect the North American natives Andropogon gerardii (big bluestem), A. virginicus (broom sedge bluestem), Bothriochloa laguroides, Elionurus tripsacoides, Schizachyrium scoparium (little bluestem), Sorghastrum nutans (Indian grass) and Tripsacum dactyloides (gamagrass).
