Objective:
1. Evaluate the current, post-hurricane population status of Harrisia cactus mealybug in Puerto Rico and its nearby outer islands (Vieques and Culebra). 2. Identify any effect the hurricanes had on previously surveyed Harrisia cactus mealybug (HCM) populations and the insects’ dispersal into new locations in Puerto Rico.

Approach:
Rapid survey of Harrisia cactus mealybug at previous locations on host plants and new additional sites with known Harrisia cactus mealybug host plants.
