Research Project: Statistical Modeling of Chronic Dairy Consumption

Location: Obesity and Metabolism Research

Project Number: 2032-51530-025-08-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 1, 2018
End Date: Aug 1, 2018

Objective:
The agreement will aid completion of Objective 2 of the parent project by providing the appropriate statistical expertise to develop models. These models will use biological data to predict perceptions of hunger and meal satisfaction. The title of the parent project that this agreement will support is “Using an Integrated Model to Determine How Chronic Dairy Consumption Affects Factors Linked to Food Intake and Satiety.”

Approach:
The Cooperator will support this study conducted by ARS researchers in Davis, California by employing part time technical support with expertise in advanced statistical modeling and metabolomics analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, an Assistant Project scientist. Multivariate statistical analyses will be used to build satiety models. Partial least squares regression analyses will be used along with structural equation modeling.
