Micronutrients and fatty acids in blood samples of the participants of the Nepal and Bergen studies have been analyzed in Norway. Our objective is to analyze B vitamins status and describe the associations between breast milk and blood concentrations of the vitamins in mothers and infants.

Approach:
Analyze breast milk samples collected in cross sectional studies in Bhaktapur, Nepal (n=303), and in Bergen, Norway (n=175) for B vitamins and: 1) Describe the concentration of various vitamins in the milk of Nepali women during the first 12 months of lactation. 2) Describe the association between the breast milk concentrations of these vitamins, maternal intake, and maternal and infant status.
