Research Project: Application, Validation and Testing of SWAT Model to Assess Impacts of Wetlands on Water Quality at the Choptank

Location: Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory

Project Number: 8042-13610-029-35-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 15, 2018
End Date: Oct 14, 2020

Objective:
Calibrate and validate SWAT models on the Choptank River Watershed to assess impacts of ditch drainage and irrigation on wetland hydroperiod.

Approach:
The SWAT model will be calibrated and validated for use in assessing impacts of irrigation. Groundwater data and wetland hydroperiod data linked to stream stage data will be used to validate model outcome.
