Research Project: Comparison of Pigment Cluster Genes in Strains of Verticillium dahliae

Location: Crop Improvement and Protection Research

Project Number: 2038-22000-016-17-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 30, 2017
End Date: Sep 30, 2019

Objective:
The objective is to determine differences in the sequences of the pigment clusters in race 1 and race 2 isolates of the soilborne fungus Veriticillium dahliae.

Approach:
The approach includes whole genome DNA sequencing of six additional race 1 and race 2 isolates each of Verticillium dahliae and comparison of pigment synthesis genes. Differences in the sequences will be analyzed using available software.
