Research Project: Protection of Biodiversity from Invasive Species in France

Location: European Biological Control Laboratory

Project Number: 0212-22000-028-007-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Mar 1, 2017
End Date: Feb 28, 2021

Objective:
To exchange information about the geographical location of invasive plants or insects discovered during regular field missions of ONCFS agents.

Approach:
ARS-EBCL will provide ONCFS a list of target species of plants and insects that are known to be invasive, or that can be used in research on biological control of invasive species. If ONCFS agents encounter the target species during their regular duties, they will take a photograph and report the location to EBCL. EBCL will maintain a database of the reported locations of target species. This information will be useful to EBCL for conducting research on prospective biological control agents of invasive alien species, and to ONCFS for helping them to preserve their biodiversity.
