Location: Plant Genetics Research

Project Number: 5070-21000-040-005-R
Project Type: Reimbursable Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Oct 1, 2016
End Date: Sep 30, 2019

Objective:
Research to support the High Oleic/Low Lin trait for US soybeans

Approach:
ARS will conduct research on the development of diverse High Oleic/Low Lin (HOLL) soybean germplasm targeted to different maturity groups to be field tested in Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Georgia. In addition, ARS will conduct research on the most efficient breeding selection strategies for introgression of the HOLL trait. We will also finalize the environmental stability project and continue efforts to combine oil and meal traits.
