Objective:
Characterize Rathayibacter and Anguina species present in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest; compare to select agent Rathayibacter toxicus from Australia and Rathayibacter and Anguina species present in Maryland.

Approach:
1. Develop standardized nematode/bacteria adhesion test protocol. 2. Evaluate Anguina and Afrina nematodes from Maryland with Rathayibacter species from Idaho and vice versa. 3. Test all available Anguina and Afrina nematodes with select agent Rathayibacter toxicus.
