To develop a high-throughput, in-field phenotyping platform and data processing protocols to quantify peanut canopy characteristics associated with resistance to Sclerotinia blight.
Plant canopies from diverse peanut cultivars will be scanned in the field using LIDAR or other sensors to evaluate canopy consistency within and between seasons. Methods for data processing and analyses will be established and a user-friendly phenotyping platform will be developed. Plant canopy characteristics will be tested for associations with in-canopy environmental variables and disease resistance.
