Objective:
To utilize the University of Wisconsin-Madison, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (CALS-IACUC) to ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), when conducting research on food-producing animals owned by the UW-Madison, under the care of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), and housed at the United States Dairy Forage Research Center facilities located in Prairie du Sac and Marshfield WI (the “USDFRC Facilities”).

Approach:
USDA-ARS scientists will conduct research on food-producing animals. To avoid conflict, ambiguity, and duplication of efforts regarding animal care protocols, reviews, and record-keeping, USDA-ARS and the Cooperator desire to operate under a single set of rules/ guidelines that all employees (ARS and Cooperator) will follow at the USDFRC Facilities.
