Research Project: Helping Producers Evaluate Agricultural Management Through Paired Edge-of-Field Research

Location: Soil Drainage Research

Project Number: 5080-13210-002-002-T
Project Type: Trust Fund Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Mar 1, 2017
End Date: Feb 28, 2022

Objective:
Continue edge-of-field (EOF) research aimed at quantifying the impact of different agricultural production practices. We will demonstrate the effectiveness of agricultural best management practices at surface and subsurface (tile) edge-of-field sites in Northwest Ohio.

Approach:
ARS will use a before/after control impact design on several paired edge-of-field sites to quantify the impacts of different best management practices. ARS will collect and analyze data from several surface and tile drainage sites to assess the impact of prevailing and best management practices. Summary data will be shared with the Cooperator, at field days, and professional meetings.
